10. Adrianne Palicki

Almost was: Gamora Another up-and-coming female actress with a slightly action-bent who was up for the green-skinned assassin, rumours of Adrianne Palicki surfaced about the same time as those about Gina Carano. Most well known for her recurring role as Tyra Collette in Friday Night Lights, her expansion into movies includes the female leads in G.I. Joe: Retaliation and Red Dawn. When the initial splurge of casting rumours for the character emerged Palicki was right at the top of the list (although that may have been partly due to her ties with recent releases). If we're being honest she's one of the least interesting choices for the role, but back in January 2013 she seemed a strong contender. As was the case with Carano there's a considerably more action-y approach to the casting of Gamora on show here, although the real favourite for the role, discussed later on, is totally opposite to that.
