20 Awesome 90s Movies The World Forgot

Out of the four films from Pierce Brosnan's underappreciated run as James Bond, Tomorrow Never Dies is the forgotten one. Goldeneye is beloved, Die Another Day is infamous and the always-underrated The World is Not Enough gets remembered for the blunder of casting Denise Richards as a nuclear scientist (to be fair, that was a critical error), but Brosnan's second outing doesn't get much attention at all. What can one say other than "Why?"

Seriously, this one needs another look. Bad-ass, modern and relentlessly cool, Tomorrow Never Dies is a classic 90s action film through and through, one featuring many jaw-dropping, Bond-worthy action scenes and the kind-of enthralling creativity and spectacle today's action flicks just don't seem to do nearly as well. It's also got Michelle Yeoh's Wai Lin as its female lead, and she's hands-down one of the coolest Bond Girls of to date. 

And fine, it is weighed down by its villain, a cringe-worthy Rupert Murdoch parody but at the same time, even if said character was executed poorly, this storyline has allowed Tomorrow Never Dies to age rather well. Amidst today's never-ending controversies regarding the mass media, this flick now feels surprisingly topical in its own quirky way. 

So there, that's another reason to go and revisit Tomorrow Never Dies. You probably won't regret it.
