20 Awesome Horror Villains Introduced In TERRIBLE Movies

5. Chauncey - Imaginary

Imaginary Chauncey
Blumhouse

Name a more iconic duo than Blumhouse and squandering neat concepts for horror movies.

And one of the studio's more recent failures is Imaginary, whose antagonist is a demonic entity, Chauncey, which pretends to be an imaginary friend to children via the form of a cute teddy bear.

Again, a cool idea for a horror film in which a demon can terrorise a family in plain sight, and for all of the film's issues otherwise, the brief glimpses we catch of Chauncey as a monstrous bear-demon-thing are genuinely terrifying.

It looks metal as hell, but Imaginary is ultimately hamstrung by a script that's just too damn keen to waltz through the generic supernatural horror beats, while a PG-13 rating means we're not even able to savour the basic thrill of Chauncey ripping people apart with its giant jaws.

Imaginary performed fine at the box office, but whether those returns will be enough for Chauncey to get another go-around remains to be seen.

He definitely deserves it, even if he was fundamentally undermined by the movie surrounding him.
