20 Awesome Horror Villains Introduced In TERRIBLE Movies

17. Gerald - 13 Cameras

13 Cameras
79th & Broadway Releasing

The real and arguably only success of 2016's horror-thriller 13 Cameras is that it presents audiences with one of the most nauseatingly offputting genre villains of the last decade - Gerald (Neville Archambault), a bug-eyed, murderous landlord who uses hidden cameras to secretly watch his tenants.

Between the hulking, lumbering physicality of the late Neville Archambault and the sheer vileness of his lecherous perversions, watch the guy for more than a few minutes and you'll want to take a shower.

But the core of Gerald also feels more disconcertingly real than your average horror baddie - it's easy to believe that people like him exist, while ironically most of Gerald's victims are written considerably less persuasively.

Yes, it's with the plentiful drama of 13 Cameras' other characters that the enterprise begins to fall apart, and so pretty much any time we're not with Gerald, it's a slog to get through.

The same is more-or-less true of sequels 14 Cameras and 15 Cameras, the latter sadly recasting the role of Gerald due to Neville Archambault's death in 2022.
