12. Baba Yaga - Hellboy (2019)
The risible third Hellboy movie at least did one thing right - it finally introduced the fan favourite supervillain from the Hellboy comics, Baba Yaga.
Baba Yaga is a one-eyed Russian witch who lost her eye in a previous encounter with Hellboy (David Harbour), and the pair briefly cross paths again when Hellboy seeks out the sorceress Nimue (Milla Jovovich).
While Baba Yaga isn't the film's main villain, she makes far more of an impression than Nimue or honestly any other character in the movie.
She's the one aspect of Hellboy 2019 that works without reservation - the magnificent makeup effects are entirely worthy of Guillermo del Toro's two prior films, and the performances from Troy James and voice actress Emma Tate to bring Baba Yaga to life are terrific.
Otherwise this take on Hellboy was a mostly forgettable reboot that lacked the stylish panache and personality of the del Toro films, nor dared do anything intriguingly fresh with the formula.
Between this and the commercial failure of last year's second reboot Hellboy: The Crooked Man, it sadly seems unlikely we'll see a new Hellboy movie any time soon, meaning we're probably not getting another glimpse of Baba Yaga in the near-future either.
