20 Awesome J-Horror Movies Every Horror Fan Should See

11. One Cut Of The Dead

One Cut Of The Dead
Third Window

Plot: While a film crew are trying to film a zombie movie, a real zombie apocalypse breaks out.

For reasons that shan't be spoiled here, One Cut of the Dead breaks many horror conventions to the point where its status as a horror film is debatable, but overall it just about qualifies and it's also simply too good to leave out.

A giddily creative, hysterically funny and beautifully-crafted love letter to zombie cinema and film-making in general, One Cut of the Dead more than earns its lofty standing as the highest-rated 2019 wide release on Rotten Tomatoes - believe the hype.

This is one of those movies where you need to go in knowing as little as possible. That way, you can fully appreciate one of the finest horror comedies of recent times and be left gobsmacked by its many ingenious twists and turns.

The best Japanese horror film of the 2010s? Of course it is.
