Aaron Sorkin's second directorial feature sees him dramatising the infamous case of the Chicago Seven, a group of anti-Vietnam War protestors who were charged with conspiring to incite a riot at the 1968 Democratic convention in Chicago.
Beyond the one-two punch of Sorkin as both director and writer, the film's cast is absolutely insane: Sacha Baron Cohen, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Michael Keaton, Frank Langella, Eddie Redmayne, Mark Rylance, Jeremy Strong, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II to name just a few.
The marketing certainly suggests a fierce, Oscar-worthy drama primed for our politically uncertain present, while early reviews have touted it as both one of the year's best films and a serious awards threat.
The Trial of the Chicago 7 lands on Netflix on October 16th.
