20 Best Easter Eggs In 2017 Movies

17. Pet Sematary - Justice League

Justice League is jam-packed full of nerdy references to the source material, but arguably the best Easter egg is a running gag referring to Stephen King's iconic horror novel Pet Sematary.

When the League gets ready to resurrect Superman (Henry Cavill), Barry Allen (Ezra Miller) quips that he hopes it doesn't end up like Pet Sematary, which is of course a cautionary tale about the perils of bringing dead things back to life.

Once Supes re-appears and starts attacking the League, Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) explains, "He's confused, he doesn't know who he is", causing Barry to hilariously repeat, "Pet Sematary."

Though a lot of the movie's humour doesn't really work, this was a great callback that actually felt totally organic, even if a large chunk of the audience was probably too young to even be aware of what The Flash was talking about. Do you feel old yet?
