6. Pepper Potts
The first lady of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. On paper, Miss Pepper Potts doesn't sound like much - secretary and love interest to Tony Stark (a.k.a Iron Man). However, thanks to some canny writing, an adorable performance by Gwyneth Paltrow, and her great chemistry with star Robert Downey Jr., Pepper quickly stole the audience's heart (and Tony's, too).
From Iron Man through to Avengers Assemble and Iron Man 3, we watched Pepper progress from lowly secretary to an actual head honcho at Stark Industries. Sure, the movies had her turn Damsel In Distress at least one time too many - and her fake-out death at the end of Iron Man 3 was a little much - but Pepper's Paltrow-infused personality shone through it all. The Stark/Potts romance seems to have fizzled following recent in-Universe events, but we hold out hope that this isn't the last we've seen of Pepper Potts.
