20 Best Horror Movies Of 2021

You're definitely advised to watch Valdimar Jóhannsson's directorial debut Lamb while knowing as little as humanly possible, because it's one hell of a wild ride alright.

Noomi Rapace and Hilmir Snær Guðnason star as a childless couple who discover a newborn lamb on their property and decide to effectively raise it as their own child. This is an intentionally vague synopsis.

What follows is one of the most chilly and unsettling horror films of the last few years - a beautifully shot and terrifically acted meditation on loss and family that contorts itself in several different directions you likely won't expect.

Its slow pace demands patience, but the WTF moments come steadily enough that you'll likely be fixed in its utterly hypnotic gaze throughout. Rapace in particular is sensational in a movie sure to burrow itself deep down into your grey matter and stay there for a while.
