20 Best Netflix Original Movies
12. The Fundamentals Of Caring (2016)
One of Netflix's most underappreciated gems, The Fundamentals of Caring is at once a sweet coming-of-age drama and a frequently hilarious road movie. The film stars Paul Rudd as Ben, a depressed writer who becomes the carer to Trevor (Craig Roberts), who suffers from muscular dystrophy and rarely leaves the house.
When Ben decides to take Trevor across country to tick off all the things on his bucket list, the pair come to terms with their own troubled pasts and growing friendship.
Based on the novel The Revised Fundamentals of Caring by Jonathan Evison, the film is by no means the most original teen movie on offer, but between Rudd's witty, tragic leading performance and the perfect blend of comedy and drama, it's certainly one of the most rewarding Netflix has ever put together.
