20 Biggest Blockbuster Movie Showdowns Of All Time

8. Get Away From Her You B*tch - Aliens (1986)

Whereas Ridley Scott's Alien was essentially a haunted house horror movie set in space, James Cameron decided to take the follow-up in a completely different direction and craft a visceral Vietnam-influenced action movie, not to mention one of the best sequels ever made. Sigourney Weaver reprises the role of Ellen Ripley and delivers an Academy Award-nominated performance, with her maternal instincts serving as the inspiration for her epic showdown with the Alien Queen, punctuated by one of the most memorable lines of dialogue in sci-fi history. Given that the Alien Queen was a full-scale 14 feet tall creation that required puppeteers, animatronics and cranes to control, it is a testament to both the quality of the practical effects and the director's ability to stage action that the ensuing battle remains such a thrilling set-piece almost 30 years on. The moment Ripley's silhouette appears in the power-loader and her subsequent delivery of the line 'get away from her you b*tch!' is a classic moment, and the subsequent bruising slugfest and incredibly tense escape from the airlock result in one of the best final showdowns ever put to film.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
