More often than not sequels turn out to be notably inferior to the originals, retreading old ground and failing to bring anything fresh or original to a franchise. James Cameron is one director with a track record for avoiding falling into that trap, having transformed the Alien franchise into an action-packed war movie with Aliens and upped the ante considerably for the sequel to his own classic sci-fi movie Terminator. Terminator 2: Judgement Day certainly benefitted from a swollen budget, allowing Cameron to stage some spectacular action pieces (and blow up a few buildings in the process), and his stab at a vehicle chase sequence is every bit as impressive as the rest of the stunt work. A young John Connor and his T-100 protector flee from the T-1000 through dried up waterways, but it's the truck crashing over the bridge which really impresses. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tMzsDsYtnFc
