At some point between Endgame and No Way Home, Stephen Strange had to give up the mantle of Sorcerer Supreme. That duty now falls, as we learn, to Wong.

Although Strange claims that Wong got the position on a 'technicality' (because Strange was blipped for five years), the result is the same, and Wong now stands as the frontline mystic protector of Earth.

This development actually clarifies a few things that have taken place in the MCU as of late.

Wong appears to be the one who summoned and prepared most of the magicians for the climactic battle of Endgame. He also played a large role in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, with him seen in a short scene at the superhuman fight club, taking on and beating the Abomination before making suggestions as to how he can improve his fighting skills.

In a mid-credits scene, he summons Shang-Chi and Katy to Kamar-Taj, where he introduces them to Bruce Banner and Captain Marvel. He has obviously become something of a magical liaison to the Avengers.

Wong is also expected to play a large role in the upcoming 'Multiverse of Madness', which explores the massive impacts that have occurred because of both Dr Strange and Wanda Maximoff dabbling with the forces of time and space.

Also, if you saw No Way Home but didn't stay right till the end, see it again, and stay.
