20 More Everyday Challenges Movies & TV Make Look So Easy

15. Trusting Strangers

There used to be a time in America when you could walk up to a person you didn't know and ask them what time it was. Have a discussion with the person sitting next to you on the subway. Share an umbrella with a person trapped in the rain without one. Now, you see newspaper articles about people doing these sort of things because it is so rare you see them that they are considered notable acts of kindness. Because of the horrific events in the last few decades, people have stopped trusting each other. It might not be the best way to live a life, but it is the smartest. However, there are several examples of really stupid people who trust the wrong people in movies and TV, but even more examples of stupid people trusting the right people, forming wonderful friendships and/or relationships, getting bigger and better opportunities that the rest of us would miss out on because we just don't talk to strangers anymore. Sometimes I wish I could be more open to talking to strangers, simply because you never know what you'll learn, what you'll realize about humanity, and what you'll realize about yourself.

14. Having Sweet Cats That Mind Their Own Business

Cats Mr Jink Meet The Parents I know what you're all thinking, no two cats are alike (or something). Then why is it that every cat in every TV show or movie are so damn sweet and keep to themselves unless they want to be fed? My cats are the most "in your face" cats you can find, just as everyone else's cats are (I've seen the videos on YouTube, alright?). Even now, my cats are playing with the cord on the computer and walking all over my keyboard, just because I'm not paying attention to them. Another thing - Hollywood cats don't talk. They scream when attacking, which I haven't seen a cat do in real life, but they don't really talk. One of my cats talks non-stop and the other only talks when she's "lost", meaning she can't find anyone in the room she is currently in. When I got cats, originally, I thought, "yeah, this will be fun. Cat's are simple, take care of themselves, and will kill any scary bugs in my house, 'cause that's what they do in the movies." Needless to say, I love my cats and enjoy them bothering me all the time. I just wish Hollywood would have a better representation for the feline species.
