I dont think either of these men need much introduction. They are among the most acclaimed filmmakers still living today, with a fanbase the size of Minnesota. The Coen brothers have been making movies since Blood Simple back in 1984. Since then theyve created a string of American classics such as Fargo, The Big Lebowski, Barton Fink, No Country for Old Men, O Brother, Where Art Thou? and more. No matter what the genre, be it comedy, crime, western, or thriller, each of their films seems to be a slice of old school Americana. In addition to their remarkable directing careers, both Joel and Ethan Coen are two of Hollywoods most accomplished screenwriters; they have writing credits attached to movies ranging from Steven Spielbergs Bridge of Spies to Angelina Jolies Unbroken. This February marks the release of the Coen brothers newest film, Hail, Caesar! Boasting an all-star cast including George Clooney, Josh Brolin, Ralph Fiennes, Tilda Swinton, and Scarlett Johansson, Hail, Caesar! looks to be another earnest effort from the Coens. Will it live up to the standards set by some of their previous work? I guess well find out come February 5th.
