Drive My Car is an extraordinary film that boasts one of the richest and most brilliant screenplays of any movie from the last few years, which ensures that the film is absolutely loaded with outstanding dialogue scenes.

Arguably the best of these is the backseat talk between protagonist Yusuke (Hidetoshi Nishijima) and Taskatsuki (Masaki Okada), a friend of Yusuke's late wife Oto, in which they discuss her, her complicated but loving relationship with Yusuke and a story she told them both.

Thanks to the phenomenally brilliant dialogue and the fantastic performances from both actors, this is the kind of the scene that'll have audiences completely hypnotized and unable to look away.

It's an exemplary movie moment that makes a long conversation in the backseat of a car more gripping and involving than your average action set-piece, and it represents an outstanding screenplay at its very best.
