20 Flawless Scenes From 2021 Movies

6. Spider-Man: No Way Home - The Three Spider-Men Meet

The biggest question surrounding Spider-Man: No Way Home was: would Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield appear as the other two Spider-Man incarnations? The answer was yes, but the way the film handled this was unbelievably good.

Rather than these two characters being there as flippant fan service or cameos, the pair of them actually play a big role in the final act and even form an important part of the MCU's Spider-Man's (Tom Holland) emotional journey.

In particular, the first meeting of all three is superbly written and in a film full of huge and epic moments, this quiet dialogue scene - in which the two multi-verse Spider-Men, Ned and MJ comfort Spider-Man after the (very upsetting) murder of Aunt May - actually steals the entire film.

It's an incredibly moving and beautifully-acted scene that will hit pretty much everyone right in the feels, and it also displays some of the best fan-service ever seen in a movie. This moment is full of references to past Spider-Man films that'll delight fans, but they're so well-imbued with the emotional content of the scene that this all feels natural and earned.

And just when you thought it couldn't get any better... this one scene alone turns the poorly-written Spider-Man from the Amazing Spider-Man films into a good character and completely redeems him. You love to see it.
