20 Greatest Movie Blockbusters Of The 21st Century (So Far)
19. Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire
It
wasn’t easy to single out a sole entry from the Boy Who Lived’s Franchise That
Excelled, when each of the films has their own charms (and, admittedly,
endearing flaws). Many fans prefer Home Alone helmer Chris Columbus’ more kid-friendly
earlier offerings, whilst some swear Roma director Alfonso Cuaron’s Prisoner of
Azkaban is as gritty and dark as the franchise should have ever gotten.
But for our money it’s in this fourth instalment that sees the characters deepen and mature, facing the reality of death (RIP Cedric) and the return of He Who Must Not Be Named as well as far more teenage tribulations such as a hilarious but touching love triangle. And that’s not to mention the many impressive set pieces featured in this one, including the nail biting Triwizard Tournament tasks.
