20 Greatest Performances In Superhero Movies
3. Hugh Jackman - Wolverine (X-Men Franchise)
It's hilarious to look back at the late-90s Internet chat boards and see the amount of vitriol pointed towards the casting of relative unknown Hugh Jackman as everyone's favourite mutant. "That Aussie bloke from those musicals? Really?"
As it turned out, Jackman's gruff, no-nonsense bada** is largely responsible for launching the X-Men movie franchise into the phenomenon it is today, hence why he's been rewarded with three of his own solo movies (albeit of varying quality so far).
Sure, Jackman's delicious line delivery is one thing, but it's truly staggering that the 47-year-old actor manages to look more jacked with each passing film.
With him playing "Old Man Logan" in his upcomng final turn as the character, it's possible that his best and most interesting work as the comic book icon could still be to come.
As for replacing him? Good luck with that.
