12. Beauty & The Beast

Disney

Box Office: $1,263.5 billion (#1)

It was never terribly surprising that the #1 spot would be taken by Disney, nor that the live-action Beauty and the Beast would effortlessly sail past the billion-dollar mark, driven by a huge dose of audience nostalgia for the classic 1991 Best Picture-nominated animation.

The new Beauty and the Beast is far too long and Emma Watson's auto-tuned vocal performance isn't up to par, but as a stylish, affecting remake, it hits its markers more often than not, in large part thanks to Bill Condon's slick direction and enjoyable performances from the ensemble cast.

Even the new songs are pretty solid, and while it won't replace its animated predecessor, it's a fine accompaniment all the same.
