20 Marvel Characters Who Must Be Introduced In Phase 3

13. Blade

Rumours of some sort of Blade reboot have persisted for a while now, with one report claiming that Marvel (who now once again hold the rights to the vampire hunting vigilante) are planning on bringing back Wesley Snipes, but casting a new female lead - similar to an upcoming comic book series - for him to serve as a mentor to. That could work, though it doesn't seem unfair to say that forgetting the previous movies and starting from scratch with a new actor as Blade is the much better option. In terms of the upcoming Phase 3 movies, it's tough to pinpoint specifically where this character could be introduced without sticking out like a sore thumb, so it's once again The Defenders which feels like the most sensible option. With Doctor Strange kicking open the door to the Marvel Cinematic Universe's supernatural side, characters like Blade and Ghost Rider expanding that on the small screen makes sense, as does Blade seeking out the help of heroes like Daredevil and Iron Fist. After all, while it may appear that Netflix foursome are on a collision course with The Hand, would vampires not make for an even better threat? Like The Punisher in season two of Daredevil, Blade making his presence felt in The Defenders would be a great way to set the stage for a solo spinoff series down the line.
