20 Mind-Blowing Facts You Never Knew About James Bond
15. Roger Moore Was 57 When He Last Played Bond
Despite his many faces, people have an image of a generic Bond in their heads. Obviously, he wears a tuxedo, carries a gun, is probably dark-haired (there was a furore when the blonde Daniel Craig was first cast) and in his 30s or 40s. It's shocking to find out then that third Bond Roger Moore played the role right up until he was 57. 1985's A View To A Kill was the actor's final Bond film and was met with generally negative reviews, most critics feeling Moore was far too old for the character. Always the good sport, Moore has since said that he agrees that he shouldn't have done the last film, saying: "I was only about 400 years too old for the part."
