20 Most Critically Adored Films Of 2015

6. Shaun The Sheep

Rotten Tomatoes: 99% From 142 Reviews No, that's not a typo. Despite being the forerunner to The Minions (in terms of spinning off a parent property and aiming squarely at kids), Shaun The Sheep proved to be a lesson to its yellow siblings in how to make a cash-in that doesn't look shameless or lazy. Perhaps it's because there's always more charm in stop-motion than there ever will be in CG animation (just ask Aardman about Flushed Away), but Shaun The Sheep is irresistibly charismatic, funny and entertaining. It helps that directors Mark Burton and Richard Starzak remained committed to the same principles that made the genre-defining Wallace & Gromit films so great. Sample Review:
"Every once in a while, the movie delivers a laugh big enough to dwarf its more modest charms-further emphasizing that this is junior-level Aardman." - Jesse Hassenger, AV Club
