20 Most Cringe-Worthy One-Liners In Movie History
13. "Is It Still Raining? I Hadn't Noticed" - Four Weddings & A Funeral
For the most part, Four Weddings and a Funeral is a terrifically charming romantic comedy from Richard Curtis, but it's typically acclaimed in spite of Andie Macdowell's rather flat performance, which was inexplicably nominated for a Golden Globe.
In fairness, Macdowell is given one utterly howling clunker of a line during the big romantic reconciliation scene, as Grant's character declares his love for her and notes that she's standing in the rain.
She replies, "Is it still raining? I hadn't noticed." It's obviously an attempt to signify that Macdowell's character is so into him that she hasn't even taken stock of the weather, but it's just too damn gooey, and Macdowell's delivery doesn't help at all.
