10. The Church Massacre (Kingsman: The Secret Service)
Matthew Vaughn is one of the most stylish directors working today, so what happens when he decides to take on a scene featuring Tarantino levels of violence? The church massacre from Kingsman happens, of course. As the hateful masses of a church slowly fall prey to Valentines induction of rage, the scene quickly devolves into an all-out brawl, with hundreds of deranged participants. Caught in the middle is the hero, Harry Hart, who just wants to get out alive and uses just about every means to do so. To have that many people, engaged in vicious hand-to-hand combat in a shot thats designed to look as if its a single take is nothing short of staggering. The screen is literally vibrating up and down with intensity and the music ratchets up to match the pace. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NXB6slJSbL4 This could have been just another generic fight scene, but the unique spin on the material turned it into the defining moment of a very good film.
