16. The Drama - Charlie's Wedding Speech
Thanks to a controversial plot element that wasn't even hinted at in the marketing, The Drama has become one of the most divisive and talked-about movies of the year so far. It's also, arguably, one of 2026's best at this point. Perhaps the school shooting plotline was misjudged, but it's still a smartly-written and layered black dramedy that captures the stress and anxiety of modern relationships to brilliantly uncomfortable effect.
All the way through, this piles on the discomfort and then reaches the apex of cringe when the disastrous wedding of Emma (Zendaya) and Charlie (Robert Pattinson) finally arrives. In particular, when Charlie stands up to do his wedding speech - just after it's been revealed he cheated on Emma with a colleague days before - most viewers will be watching through their fingers.
During his excruciating speech, he openly hints that Emma contemplated carrying out a school shooting as a child and admits his infidelity to all of the guests, leading to the boyfriend of Charlie's colleague attacking him in a sublime crescendo of awkwardness. Is it painful to watch? Oh yes, but it's painful in the best kind-of way.
