20 Most Surprising Rotten Tomatoes Scores Of 2018
13. Holmes & Watson (8%)
Few would've pegged Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly's new comedy vehicle for barnstorming critical success, but even so, the mildly amusing trailers suggested it'd probably score mixed reviews in the 30-40% region.
Critics didn't just show dismissive indifference towards Holmes & Watson, though: they flat-out reviled it, deeming it among the worst films either actor has ever starred in.
In retrospect, with the movie being dumped during Christmas with scarce pre-release reviews after Sony attempted to sell it to Netflix, the reviews make a lot more sense. Even so, it turned out a colossal dud beyond anyone's wildest expectations.
