Jurassic Park is one of Steven Spielberg's finest films, not to mention one of the all-time Great movie blockbusters.

It was immediately important thanks to how ground-breaking the special effects were, but there's so much more to it than that. While some films, such as Avatar or Gravity (2013) are terrible films where the only real benefit is the special effects, Jurassic Park is an all-around great film that has endured for years as a result.

Endlessly thrilling, brilliantly directed and featuring a cast of unforgettable characters, this has defined millions of childhoods and it's not hard to see why. It's the kind of awe-inspiring experience which reminds us of why we love going to the movies and it's ageing extremely well too. Just don't bother with the sequels.
