Avengers: Infinity War is one of the greatest superhero movies ever made.
A beautifully-scripted movie that combines exhilarating action, hilarious jokes and a surprising amount of dramatic heft with brilliant precision, Infinity War is a wonderful reminder of just how good superhero movies can be in the right hands.
Better still, Infinity War boasts Thanos (Josh Brolin), a flawless villain who is second only to Heath Ledger's Joker when it comes to the greatest comic-book movie villains. This is partly due to him being responsible for arguably the Greatest cliff-hanger ending in movie history, as well as one of the best movie moments of this decade full stop.
Enthralling, superbly acted, brilliantly put-together and emotionally devastating, yet also ridiculously entertaining, Infinity War is as good as modern Hollywood cinema gets. It remains the second-best MCU film; the greatest is arguably Captain America: The Winter Soldier, but that isn't a billion-dollar movie and is therefore not on this list.
