Rumour spread last summer that Wonder Woman's production is, well, a bit of a mess, and though the trailers so far look mostly spectacular, remember that everyone thought the exact same thing about Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad last year.

It's best to expect an enjoyable if narratively flawed effort that's boosted by the historical context, action sequences and Gal Gadot's performance, and critics will probably be a little kinder to it because they don't exactly want to trash the first major female-led superhero movie in forever.
