Predicted Critical Consensus: "Though it won't do much for the uninitiated, Blade Runner 2049 is another immaculate winner from director Denis Villeneuve, with strong style and impressive performances in the bargain."

Denis Villeneuve is a force of nature in Hollywood right now, and after the fantastic job he did on Arrival, it's easy to see why so many are confident in him taking the reins on Blade Runner.

Like the first film it'll probably have its detractors who dismiss it for being too slow and "boring", but the haunting visuals, strong cast and hopefully sly updating of the original's world and themes could make this an instant sci-fi classic. Fingers crossed!
