Predicted Critical Consensus: "Oozing style and boasting a gonzo Scarlett Johansson performance, Ghost in the Shell nevetheless struggles with incoherent storytelling and a neutered treatment of its beloved source material."

Like Power Rangers, critics are likely to be a bit more open-minded here (the Internet may hate Lucy, but remember that it scored a 67% Tomatometer), but ultimately this film has so many hurdles to jump over even for the most undemanding of audiences that it's hard to see critics springing for it either.

It's probably going to end up best enjoyed as a spiritual adaptation of the source material's vision rather than a faithful retelling, but if the script and action are lacking, this one's toast regardless.
