Predicted Critical Consensus: "Despite a game Jim Carrey performance, Sonic the Hedgehog is yet another in a long line of disappointingly undercooked video game movies."

As much as everyone wants there to be a great (or even a good) Sonic movie, the live-action-animation hybrid format instantly has fans' eyebrows raised, and the early marketing materials depicting an oddly humanoid-looking Sonic aren't terribly encouraging.

It's possible this one's a pleasant surprise, but it's definitely smart to keep your expectations low for now, at least until the first trailer drops and we have a better idea of the style and tone they're shooting for.
