20 Recent Movies That Ruined INCREDIBLE Plots

While there's simply no competing with the pulpy brilliance of 1987's Arnold Schwarzenegger-starring The Running Man, it was tough not to be excited about Edgar Wright's more source-faithful adaptation of Stephen King's dystopian novel.

Wright and King seemed like a heavenly match, and yet for reasons that still aren't really clear, Wright decided to produce a bewilderingly anonymous, generic sci-fi action film that lacked most of his signature filmmaking personality.

Where's the wit and charm we expect from Wright? This is instead an incredibly boilerplate genre offering that also happens to be a tediously overstretched 133 minutes in length, while giving its game ensemble cast maddeningly little to do.

And this is without even getting to the ending, which seemingly commits to adapting the highly controversial finale from King's novel only to cheaply pull the rug out moments later. 

This disappointment appropriately typifies just how much of a missed opportunity the film was as a whole.
