20 Rotten Tomatoes Predictions For 2023's Biggest Movies

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse shocked the world when it landed a 97% rating back in 2018, with a mind-blowing 8.8/10 average score no less.

It was a score virtually unheard of for both superhero movies and animated films outside of Pixar, and proved persuasive enough that even stodgy Academy voters couldn't possibly ignore it, giving it the Best Animated Film Oscar.

Expectations are resultingly sky-high for the sequel, then, but with the brilliant Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (The Lego Movie) returning to pen the script, it's easy to have all the faith in the world.

Even if Across the Spider-Verse dips a few points below its predecessor, much like the next Mission: Impossible film that drop will be negligible in the eyes of most.

Short of a disaster it'll surely end up one of the most acclaimed mainstream releases of the year, and has a strong chance of taking home the Best Animated Film Oscar yet again. Here's hoping.
