5. Never Assume The Killer Is Dead

Most of the serial killers in slasher films are immortal, or are at least ridiculously difficult to kill. Jason Voorhees, Freddy Krueger, Michael Myers... Shoot them. stab them, cut their heads off - they'll keep coming back. So here's a little tip. If you shoot Myers and he drops to the floor, or if you weigh Jason down with chains and dump him in Camp Crystal Lake, don't hang around under the assumption that you've won. Chances are, you haven't. Oh, and under no circumstances should you go and nudge the body with your shoe. That rarely works out well.
