20 Saddest Moments In Marvel's Cinematic Universe (So Far)

11. The Lonely Man

Another MCU alumnus who will rejoin the fray in Civil War is General €˜Thunderbolt€™ Ross (William Hurt), last seen as a thorn in Bruce Banner€™s side in The Incredible Hulk in 2008. Banner, of course, was played by Ed Norton in Marvel€™s least financially successful film before Mark Ruffalo became the fourth man to take on the role a few years later. And when Norton€™s €˜Days Without Incident€™ counter was reduced to nil following Ross€™s SWAT team€™s manhunt in the Rocinha favela of Rio de Janeiro, Hulk fans of a certain age were treated to a memorable moment of nostalgia. As Norton made his way from Guatemala to the States via Chiapas, Mexico, €˜The Lonely Man€™ theme that accompanied the closing credits of The Incredible Hulk TV show of the late-seventies and early-eighties made a brief but gratifying appearance. Just a few haunting bars instantly brought to mind Bill Bixby€™s solitary struggle for anyone familiar with the character€™s first on-screen incarnation and injected some welcome pathos into an uneven affair.

I watch movies and I watch sport. I also watch movies about sport, and if there were a sport about movies I'd watch that too. The internet was the closest thing I could find.
