You'd be hard-pressed to find any film fan who hasn't seen Jurassic Park. Well, at least you should be hard-pressed to find any film fan who hasn't seen Jurassic Park.

The film is a cinematic marvel - and we're not just talking about special effects here - realising Michael Crichton's incredible vision with its well-rounded characters, thought-provoking questions and I-mean-it-when-I-say groundbreaking visuals.

John Hammond's ambitious quest to start his own dinosaur theme park may have sparked an interesting conversation about morality and what not, but it also launched perhaps the most famous science fiction film of all time. Yes, Jurassic Park isn't just the yardstick for monster movies, it's, for the most part, a family friendly affair that entertains from start to finish while also finding unique ways to be incredibly clever about everything it does.

I'd call it big dumb fun, but nothing about Jurassic Park is dumb. Nothing.
