20 Terrible 2014 Movies That Should Never Have Happened
13. The Other Woman
Rotten Tomatoes Score: 24% A wildly overlong, incredibly stupid girl power comedy that pairs the usually likeable Cameron Diaz and Leslie Mann together with Kate Upton, the latter of whom turns out to be the movie's most alluring attraction (and it's sure not for her acting...) The premise is simple enough but certainly had promise, yet with Leslie Mann's shriek-filled performance and an inconsistent tone that goes from righteous to cruel and then criminal (when they poison their lover's protein shake with estrogen), this is a textbook example of a high-concept rom-com that's fatally underwritten despite an army of game actors at the helm. Given the potential for a movie like this to have a positive message about sisterhood and femininity, it's a shame the scripted opted for such a lazy approach.
Stay at home dad who spends as much time teaching his kids the merits of Martin Scorsese as possible (against the missus' wishes).
