5. A Hint Towards The Depths of Fletcher’s Cruelty
Before Andrew performed for the first time in Fletcher’s class, we get to see what kind of teacher (and person) the latter is after he viciously scolds a student for not knowing if they were out of tune or not. Shortly after, Andrew finds himself in the hot seat as he struggles to be on Fletcher’s tempo.
At first it seemed like the aspiring drummer still had some ways to go before he could keep up with a teacher of Fletcher’s calibre, but this was far from the truth.
It turns out that Andrew was on his instructor’s time and played the beat as expected, but Fletcher is deliberately gaslighting his student into being a better (his version, at least) musician.
