To again hark on about the marketing of the movie, the buzz and chatter around The Blair Witch Project had people so convinced that the film was a ‘real’ documentary that there was genuine concern for the whereabouts of Heather, Mike and Josh.

In fact, so concerned were people, the mother of actress Heather Donahue received condolence letters and sympathy cards from those who thought that her daughter really was missing after a gnarly run-in with the Blair Witch.

The film had viewers – or even people who hadn’t actually seen the film – believing that Heather, Mike and Josh were most certainly missing and quite possibly dead.
