20 Things You Didn't Know About The Sixth Sense

16. Haley Joel Osment Was Actually 11

The Sixth Sense
Buena Vista Pictures

The character of Cole Seer is nine years old. Upon seeing Haley Joel Osment in The Sixth Sense, you’d most likely think that the actor was actually younger that nine at the time that the film was shot.

Instead, Haley Joel Osment was actually 11 years of age when The Sixth Sense was being filmed.

Osment was born on April 10th, 1988, which would have made him 11 when the film was wrapping its shoot and was then released in cinemas in August of 1999.

Despite his slightly older age, Haley delivered a poignant, delicate and troubled performance as Cole Seer – a role for which he won several award nomination and even took home the Saturn Award for Best Performance by a Young Actor.
