20 Things You Somehow Missed In Gravity
8. Its Oscars Success... And Miss
Following its release, Gravity was met with near-universal acclaim and received over half the trophies it was nominated for during the 2013/14 awards season.
These prizes came from the likes of the Golden Globes, the AFI, the BAFTAs, and of course the Academy Awards. Despite winning an amazing seven out of ten awards, it missed out on the top prize. Therefore, it only lags behind 1972 musical period piece Cabaret as the only film to have won the most Oscars without winning Best Picture.
Despite this, Gravity is the most awarded movie at the prestigious ceremony since 2008's Slumdog Millionaire, and has only tied with last year's Everything Everywhere All At Once.
