20 Things You Somehow Missed In Kill Bill Volume 2
5. Bill's TV Is Synchronised To What He's Doing
During the final confrontation between Beatrix and Bill, watch and listen carefully as Bill sheaths the Hanzo sword and places it on the worktop behind him.
On the right-hand side of the screen a film is playing on the TV - the 1949 Roy Rogers Western The Golden Stallion - and as Beatrix descends the stairs, Bill slams the sheathed sword onto the worktop, just as a character in the film is punched square in the face.
The sound of the sheath hitting the worktop sounds rather similar to a punch and syncs up perfectly with the image in the movie. While this could conceivably have been a coincidence, it feels like the sort of weird, playful thing a film nerd like Tarantino would intentionally include.
