A couple of years ago the McCallister family home in Chicago sold for $1.585 million. The huge house that was the centrepiece of Home Alone was approximately 4,000 square feet and included four bedrooms and two bathrooms - which didn't seem enough for all those kids, and what was up with that? - something which other, less quick-off-the-mark homeowners might enjoy. So a certain Brandon Smith of Southgate Residential drew up plans in case anybody wanted to build their own. And then leave their son their at Christmas for a laugh.
