20 Underappreciated Blockbusters That Are Much Better Than You Remember
4. Iron Man 3
Iron Man 3 remains the most divisive entry in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe to date. Most people agree that The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2 and Thor: The Dark World are the studio's weakest efforts, but nothing has sparked such fervent debate among the fanbase quite like Shane Black's threequel.
Surely it can't all be down to the controversial Mandarin reveal? The child sidekick is kind of annoying but the action is solid, the dialogue as snappy and sarcastic as you'd expect from the mind behind Lethal Weapon and the dynamic between Tony Stark and Rhodey should have got those two a spinoff where they travel the countryside solving mysteries without an armored suit in sight.
The movie does suffer from a weak villain (as does most of the MCU) and the ending is a little underwhelming thanks to a second Mandarin reveal and super-Paltrow saving the day, but the amount of hate some people seem to have for Iron Man 3 seems a little excessive.
