Chances are that you don't even remember this bizarre entity calling itself a "movie" actually coming out, which is probably the best thing that could have happened. The Big Wedding might've been one of those movies you grudging sit down with the whole family to watch on some depressing Saturday night where all of your plans were cancelled: turns out it's not even fitting for that sort of dire occassion. Put simply, The Big Wedding is a dull, shallow and patronising travesty. Starring veterans Robert De Niro, Diane Keaton, Robin Williams, and Susan Sarandon, and young talents like Amanda Seyfried, Ben Barnes and Topher Grace, there's barely a laugh to be had in this comedy - in fact, it reeks of one of those Godawful Tyler Perry ensemble flicks, albeit with white people. It's a non-movie in every sense, lacking any noticeable plot or dramatic weight. We should've known, of course: Katherine Heigl is in it, too, and that's never a good sign.
