Granted, the ladies have been dragging their boyfriends to see the latest Nicholas Sparks movie adaptations ever since The Notebook made both parties cry, therefore giving said girlfriend the ammunition to say things like: "But you liked The Notebook! You even cried at the end." But there hasn't been a good or worthwhile Nicholas Sparks adaptation since The Notebook, guys, and this one - Safe Haven - might just be the worst and most detestable venture yet. Josh Duhamel and Julianne Hough star as themselves (well, not really - but they might as well) in this romantic drama that wants to be The Sixth Sense of romantic drama movies. There's not a single thing going right here, though, from the Godawful dialogue cues and overtly sentimental love scenes, to what has to be one of the worst twists of all time during the film's closing moments. If you girlfriend suggests you sit down for this one, just dump her. It's not worth it.
