20 Worst Movies Of 2022
2. 365 Days: This Day
Forget about Fifty Shades of Grey (That shouldn't be too hard.) Even though EL James's trilogy was heavily criticised for romanticising sexual abuse, those books don't hold a candle to the erotic novel, 365 Days, which was adapted for Netflix in 2020. In this movie (if you can call it that), a Mafioso called Massimo kidnaps a woman called Laura, and gaslights her into falling for him within one year.
It may sound like the creepiest pitch imaginable, but 365 Days generated enough success to warrant a sequel, 365 Days: This Day. Against all odds, this follow-up is even more offensive.
Despite the fact this is allegedly a love story, Massimo acts like a total creep and repeatedly assaults Laura. If you watched his scenes out of context, you'd safely assume he was the antagonist. None of the sex scenes get your heart racing, mainly because they involves sequences like Massimo spitting on Laura's private parts as a declaration of love. (Yes, that is actually in the movie.)
Because 365 Days: This Day is such an insult to cinema, it feels like there's nothing else this year that could top it...
With one exception...
